Diemo Schwarz

A deep dive into the plasticity of the voice and the fathomlessness of embodied electronics.  The plastic edge and the internal body. How can the voice make visible what escapes sight?  Through improvisation, Guylaine Cosseron and Diemo Schwarz deal with the duality and complementarity between vocal performance and digital tools.  A poetic work that questions the relationship between humans, animality and machines.

Guylaine Cosseron is a singer, vocalist and composer, Artistic director of Cie Vocal Unlimited in Normandy.  Specialist in improvisation and the use of the voice as a musical instrument.   Her eclectic voice, diverted in search of an internal sound world through great vocal technicality visiting all the music of the world through free improvisation.

Diemo Schwarz plays with electronic materials rich in timbres and textures, exploring different corpora of sound using gestural controllers, thus allowing expressiveness and the body to dialogue with the digital instrument. His use of concatenative synthesis recomposes the space of sounds and questions their intrinsic qualities. By freeing them from their usual contexts, they reveal unsuspected riches.
