Le Cercle, a unique orchestra which offers the listener a truly original sensory and artistic experience.
The musicians are placed in a circle around the audience who thus find themselves at the heart of the music as it is being made.
A delicate balancing act, incorporating composition, improvisation and the manipulation of sound, between Japanese and Western culture, Le Cercle recreates for the listener a collective evocation, rooted in memory and invention, of the soundtrack of history (the cinema of Ozu or Kurosawa, the music of Bach, Debussy, the Japanese folk tradition, Duke Ellington, Ravel, Gershwin, the laugh of Bibi Anderson, the voice of Jeanne Moreau…).
Le Cercle is an attempt to capture, in a collective élan, the relationship between sound, melody, memory, the vertical and the horizontal. In a word, a new soundscape.
